CMA CGM announced it will reroute three of its services-FAL 1, FAL 3, and MEX-to sail via the Cape of Good Hope, citing "complex and uncertain international conditions."
This move delays the company's plan to expand Suez Canal transits-a strategy previously hampered by ongoing Red Sea attacks over the past two years.
The affected services are CMA CGM's France–Asia Line 1 (FAL 1), France–Asia Line 3 (FAL 3), and Mediterranean Express (MEX).
CMA CGM had earlier attempted limited Suez Canal use under naval escort: last month, it sent two large container ships through the canal and plans to launch a regular India–US service starting January next year.
