This year, the global artificial intelligence industry has accelerated its development, driving related products and services such as computing power services and intelligent hardware from China into international markets. Foreign trade growth across various regions is now showing a stronger "intelligence quotient."
In Shantou, Guangdong, leveraging the pilot policy of "data processing onshore," large model requests initiated by overseas users can enter a dedicated zone through compliant channels. After inference computing and token consumption are completed at local data centers, results are transmitted back to overseas clients via undersea fiber-optic cables. Last month, China's first end-to-end validation for token export was successfully completed here.
Cao Anding, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Shantou Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Pilot Zone, Guangdong Province: Computing power, electricity, and algorithms are locally transformed and ultimately exported overseas in the form of tokenized services, opening up new opportunities for trade in artificial intelligence-related services.
In less than a month, the scale of "Ciyuan's overseas deployment" in Shantou has grown rapidly. Computing power, electricity, and algorithms here are being transformed into measurable, tradable, and cross-border deliverable digital services. This pilot project is also driving local industries to open up new opportunities. A toy company has integrated large-model capabilities into its products, shifting the previously overseas-based model invocation and inference computing processes to be completed locally while exporting hardware-creating a new model combining "hardware export + local computing services."
