COSCO A3X China-Australia Express Maiden Voyage July 27

On July 27, COSCO Shipping Lines launched its brand-new weekly A3X China-Australia express service from Qingdao Port, marking the official launch of a regular maritime route connecting North, East and South China with Australia's east coast. The fixed port rotation is Qingdao – Shanghai – Shekou – Melbourne – Sydney – Qingdao. A highlight of the service is the newly opened direct link between Shekou and Melbourne with transit time shortened to 14 days, much faster than traditional transshipment solutions. With one weekly sailing, together with existing services, East China now has four weekly direct sailings to Australia's east coast. For a long time, cargo exported from South China to Australia mostly relies on transshipment, resulting in unstable transit times and frequent space shortages. The A3X service provides manufacturers in Pearl River Delta, including machinery, furniture and cross-border e-commerce merchants, with reliable direct shipping choices and shorter supply chain lead times. Freight forwarders comment that ahead of Australia's traditional shipping peak season, the new direct loop will ease capacity constraints and help shippers arrange shipments flexibly. The route also improves the maritime network between China and RCEP members and supports steady growth of bilateral trade.
