Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation and PSA International officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding on July 20, 2026, to jointly accelerate the adoption of low-carbon solutions across the maritime value chain. The agreement was signed by Mr. Ivan Chiang, Chief Logistics Officer & Senior Vice President of Yang Ming, and Mr. Eddy Ng, Group Head of Operations, Technology and Sustainability of PSA International, with Yang Ming President Kevin Lee and PSA Group CEO Ong Kim Pong in attendance.
Under the partnership, the two companies will develop a "sea-land joint carbon inset package": Yang Ming contributes its EcoSea+ low-carbon shipping service, leveraging its fleet's low-carbon navigation capabilities to help customers reduce Scope 3 transportation emissions; PSA brings electrified terminal and landside logistics operations, extending the emissions reduction scope from ocean to port.
The collaboration also introduces a digital Book-and-Claim framework and a joint maritime-land based inset token package, providing cargo stakeholders with a transparent and verifiable decarbonisation pathway to support sustainability goals and emissions disclosure requirements.
Mr. Kevin Lee, President of Yang Ming, stated that enhancing green competitiveness is at the heart of Yang Ming's operations. Noting that no single company can achieve supply chain decarbonisation alone, he expressed pleasure in partnering with PSA to combine maritime fuel initiatives with electrified terminal capabilities, offering global clients an adaptable and verifiable approach to emissions reduction. By the end of 2025, Yang Ming had reduced its carbon intensity by 63.32% compared to 2008 levels.
Mr. Ong Kim Pong, PSA International Group CEO, said tackling climate change requires collective efforts from all maritime supply chain players, and PSA is excited to partner with Yang Ming on decarbonising global supply chains and supporting the transition toward a more sustainable global economy.
